My love for photography has led me to realize that film and its ability to preserve memory is similar to our own process of remembering. The accidental opening of the camera cover and the light entering through it affected the film and erased everything I was trying to preserve. Light has affected it in the way time affects memory – it both creates and destroys it. I received images from the photo lab with only flashes of light from my captured moments, and trying to see at least the smallest recognizable element seemed like a desire to pull out of my head some distant memory that had already been polished in time. With the disappearance of memory, the space for expression of imagination and fantasy opens up, the boundary between reality and fiction disappears. Over time, the present becomes no more real than a dream.
