Flax linen, cotton, natural dyes
The textile collage represents the Daugava River as it flows along the concrete structures of the protective dam of the Riga HES water reservoir. The patterns of various plants and leaves, the extracted colour essence of locally obtained dyes and water create a precise documentary image of the place. The organic body of coarsely woven grey flax linen embodies the culturally interwoven substance of the specific environment, the tangible fiber body of the place.
