The bachelor’s work “Companion” (“Sabiedrotais”) explores everyday objects in contemporary life with particular attention given to public transportation. The aim of the work is to draw attention to domestic elements that often remain outside the focus of daily life, and through painting, grant them a new sense of presence and emotional dimension in a time when images have shifted more towards fast pasted stimulation. The series seeks to highlight what is constantly before our eyes, yet no longer truly seen.
