Anthesis, 2026

200 x 220 cm

oil on linen

Anthesis emerged from my exploration of female figures intertwined with hair, creating an environment that feels warm and luminous, almost like a fire. The title comes from the Greek word anthesis, referring to the moment a flower fully blooms. Hair interests me because it is both alive and inanimate, existing between the body and the world. Through this ambiguity, I explore the tension between attraction and discomfort, creating forms that feel both familiar and unsettling.
