A Garden that Does Not Exist: The Plastic Chair & the Pool, 2026

Woodcut on japanese paper

I was looking at garden chairs left out in the winter on my daily bus rides. They were looking so sad and hopeful at the same time. I was waiting for the summer as keenly as the chairs, but unlike them, I do not have an own garden. I planned a scene of summer in my head: a 7,99 € inflatable pool and a plastic chair borrowed from the landlord. With them, I could have a garden anywhere.
