The (AV17) gallery, established in 2011, is one of few Lithuanian galleries that exclusively exhibit contemporary object, sculpture and installation art. The gallery collaborates with well-known conceptual Lithuanian and foreign sculptors, while paying attention to introduce first works of young perspective artists. When presenting emerging artists, the gallery seeks to create a suitable space for an inquiry into contemporary art and its presentation. (AV17) also represents the works of Lithuanian artists abroad, thus helping them achieve recognition on the international arena. Not limiting itself to the traditional gallery concept, (AV17) is open for new collaboration options and is always on the look for creative ways and unusual locations to showcase contemporary art. The educational activities inside and outside the gallery comprises informal meet-ups with artists, workshops, lectures and other events that introduce contemporary art to the general public.
The main goal of the gallery is to popularize contemporary art among different audiences, to encourage the perception as well as increase the interest in it, by using various creative ways relevant in modern society. Dedicated to presenting the works of different art forms, the (AV17) gallery remains a unique space in Lithuania.
