The City of Oslo Art Collection is spread all over the capital, in a thousand different locations, outdoors and inside the many municipal buildings and the city’s public space - basically, where people roam and reside.
The collection consists of art acquired by direct commissions to artists, announced competitions, donated as gifts or purchased.
The city’s art collection spans from the 18th century until the present, with a clear emphasis on Norwegian modernistic 20th-century art. Today, Oslo’s unique art programme ensures further development, administration and promotion of the collection.
This website provides the opportunity to explore a wide selection of works from the collection.
