Mona Ulriche Schanche – Not the best, but still good
The world is falling apart little by little, as we search for adventure and a purpose in life. The people around me are restlessly searching for belonging and are willing to do almost anything just to be able to feel something or nothing at all. We stumble over absurdly ridiculous situations, and carefully I melt into the vulnerability together with friends, acquaintances and even strangers. Photographically, I can seem almost cynical without limits, while my images are emotional and often oozing with melancholy. My work is a tragicomic life, where I am reflected in the eyes of those I document. Not the best, but still good is the answer to any question you can ask me.
Lasse Amundsen – We will never stop
I stop skating when my body can’t take it anymore, but I will never stop being a skater, because I will be for the rest of my life. The project We will never stop is not about tricks and techniques, but about the people I have grown up with and the environment that has helped shape me. It starts with the fact that you may not feel comfortable in other sports. There are no fixed training sessions or trainers who stand and talk. There are friends who meet and hang out, you are free. The language can be rough, it can sound harsh, there are sarcastic comments that may seem mean, but they are only said to push you. At the end of the day, everyone is a friend, and there is only love. With the board under your arm, you will be welcomed regardless of age and where you come from.
