The Põhjala Quarter and the Sepikoja Gallery also enjoy this harsh and powerful romance of Kopli. I wish here to exhibit my large-scale paintings. Basically architecture, but also some female nudes. What is architecture without a human and their body? They would just stop being.
I love simple and powerful shapes, clean colours, geometry and signs. It’s always there sun, sea, tree, cloud, bird, fish, cube and sphere. The woman also looks like a big house or ship in the picture. A woman with elements of her body is a portal to a sensual world – a world of mystery. But my houses are also sensual, sometimes even erotic. I think I am continuing the earthly melody of my deceased friends with the paintings – our common melody. You might even say, the exhibition is a dedication to them,” says Vilen Künnapu, the author of the exhibition.
The exhibition will be open until February 28. The Sepikoja hall of the PÕHJALA galleries is open Mon-Fri 10:00-17:00. It is possible to visit the exhibition at other times by agreement with the curator.
