Vertigo is a sensation where the surrounding environment appears to be moving or spinning. This sensation can range from barely noticeable to so severe that it becomes difficult to maintain balance and perform daily activities. Vertigo is more of a symptom than a condition.
This symptom is akin to a global pandemic that spreads widely among masses and hinders clear perception of things. It’s a disturbance generated by ourselves. A major hazy surface ripple – “Vertigo”.
Margus Kontus (b. 1987) graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts with a degree in graphics (BA) and contemporary art (MA). He has performed at several group and solo exhibitions in Estonia and abroad. Margus’s artistic practice is characterized by a wide spectrum of experimental works. Starting with paintings made with magnetic fields and ending with energy-producing sculpture. His works are like tiny meditations to make sense of why existence exists. This last question has haunted Margus for a long time and has definitely left a mark on his work.
