USIKKERKUNTJENTE/UNSAFE ARTIST is an artist duo consisting of Iben Isabell Krogsgaard and Alexandra Jegerstedt. In the exhibition TWILL OG SATIN thematizes what the classic painting on canvas is in its essence; paint on woven textiles. The works in the exhibition safeguard and challenge two strong craft traditions. With a poetic approach, UNSURE ARTIST is in an androgynous crossover between the female weaver and the male painter. The motifs shift, emphasize, take away and affect the digitally woven canvas. The painting "Night in TOSOMSAM" is perhaps the one that most directly thematizes what USIKKERKUNSTJENTE is: a collaboration between two artists, where two artistry are combined and merged. In order for the dialogue between the two to come to the fore and take control of the painterly process, they both have to let go of the self to enter what UNCERTAIN ARTIST refers to as tosomism.
Overnight, change happens. From one day to another, the view distorts, the view of what was and what is to come. At LNM, USIKKERKUNTJENTE shows a series of new hybrids of digital jacquard weaving and oil painting. In the light of unforeseen events, the interwoven motifs become dark and lose their cheerfulness. The exhibition TWILL OG SATENG bears the mark of finding the balance between before and after a loss. As a consequence of the grief, the painting process became a tool to regain control and create a structure. INSURED ARTISTS is located in this exhibition in the picturesque landscape between Piet Mondrian and Hilma af Klint. Painted horizontal and vertical lines and circles echo an abstract rendering of nature and the mysterious.
