The transitions in life quietly redefine how we relate to ourselves and the world around us. We are continuously shaped by stray thoughts, choices, deep-rooted desires, and fears – often so subtly that we fail to notice. It is only when we pause to look back that we realise how much we have changed, forever evolving without ever knowing who we will become next.
The Umbra atelier group exhibition “Silent Metamorphoses” explores these internal transformations and their resonance in our lives. The artists explore different forms of metamorphosis in uncertain, sometimes frightening, yet ultimately fertile moments, where the familiar and the unknown coexist.
Participating artists: Ingmar Roomets, Raido Randoja, Rainer Palu, Erika Aasa, Katariina Leets, Indrek Lõbus, Elina Kuznetsova, Daniil Bessedin, and Egle Liiskmann.
Located in Tartu’s Old Town, Umbra atelier aims to create an environment where, alongside individual creative practice, a sense of community can also flourish. A place where members feel safe, supported, and creatively free. Open dialogue, the sharing of ideas without prejudice, and simply enjoying each other’s company all play an important role.
