The exhibition brings together the works of Ulla Schildt (FI/NO), Joosep Kivimäe (EE) and Beate Petersen (NO) in a shared reflection on how we understand nature, technology and a world beyond human control.
Through different media, the artists explore systems that shape contemporary life, from historical documentation, climate governance and ecological transformation to technological infrastructures and imaginaries of the unknown.
Moving between the material and the speculative, and between political language and poetic thinking, the exhibition asks how global structures shape our lives and how we relate to the world around us.
“The starting point for the exhibition is the climate summit in Glasgow in 2021, often referred to as COP26. One of the main outcomes of the summit was the urgency of following up on the guidelines established during the Paris climate agreement in 2015, where all UN member states committed to limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius. The agreement aims to prevent the most severe consequences of climate change, including extreme weather events, rising sea levels and the loss of biodiversity,” explains the artist.
