There was a time when I just waited for the evening to come. Daylight was so harsh and sharp that it hurt, while the dusk felt soft and safe. But a new morning always dawned. Would it be different this time?
Tuomo Laakso (born 1980) graduated as a Fine Artist (BA) in 2007 from the Lahti Art Institute and as a Master of Fine Arts in 2019 from the Academy of Fine Arts. He has participated in several group exhibitions in Finland and abroad, and has had solo exhibitions, the most recent of which was at the Mältinranta Gallery in Tampere in 2025. His works are in the collections of Kiasma, the Wihuri Foundation and the Saastamoinen Foundation, among others. In 2023, Tuomo Laakso was awarded the William Thuring Nominated Prize.
