“Brushes and Brushings” is an artist’s form of game with porcelain and found objects. Brush like objects have been made as a charming contrast of different materials, sculptural and decorative brush-like objects.
“The story started, when I walked by the sea and picked up pieces a of brainwood, plow and hay, and carried them home for many good years. I don’t know why. And then one day, out of the blue, the pieces appeared between porcelain spoons, that were ideal for holding the bristles of the brush together. And she adds: “Using a brush like this is quite a challenge. These are relatively uncontrollable lines, spots and marks that can be left on paper with such insane brushes. Tiina Kaljuste graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts with a degree in ceramics in 1995.
She is a member of the Estonian Ceramics Association and the Estonian Artists’ Union.
Participated in numerous exhibitions in Estonia, Latvia, Finland, Lithuania, Sweden, Poland, Greece, Belgium, Denmark and China.
