The Finnish Darkroom Association is a non-profit association founded in 2016, which preserves and develops the tradition of darkroom work and art in Finland. The association maintains a professional black-and-white studio called Mörk at the Vallila artists’ house in Helsinki, which was built with a grant from the Finnish Cultural Foundation. Today, the association has more than 90 members and actively participates in the field of Finnish photography. In the winter of 2022, the association will organize an international analog photography festival together with the Finnish Museum of Photography.
The artists in the exhibition are Jenni Haili, Natalia Kopkina, Patrick Kuoppamäki, Katri Lassila and Taru Samola. The group is comprised of active artist members of The Finnish Darkroom Association. Since 2018, they have organized together several group exhibitions, for example, Tampere Artists’ Association Art Center in Mältinranta, 2020 and Helsinki Artists’ Association in HAA Gallery, 2021.
