Šamil Alijev graduated from the Muhhin Higher School of Applied Arts in Leningrad, specializing in furniture and decorative fabrics design. He has been working at Narva Art School since 1998. He has held solo exhibitions at Narva Art Gallery in 1995, 1996, 2002, 2007, and 2015
Member of the Estonian Association of Designers, member of the Narva Artists’ Association ‘Vestervalli,’ and member of the Russian Artists’ Association in Estonia.
His paintings are in private collections in Estonia, Russia, Germany, Finland, Sweden, Bulgaria, Hungary, France, and the United States. In 2019, he was recognized with a letter of appreciation from the Estonian Minister of Culture, Tõnis Lukas, for his significant and long-term contribution to cultural life and the promotion of youth education.
