Marje Taska's exhibition "Russian Roulette" focuses on power. Marje Taska has been interested not so much in the public functioning of power, but rather in its undercurrents, the mechanisms of functioning that are beyond the understanding and reach of members of the society. "We live in a deceptive time where existence as a human group is in question. Many of us can't read the news anymore or don't believe it," describes the artist Taska. "The corridors of power are long and secret. Who are the real decision makers? What is happening to us and our planet? Do we know the whole truth?'

“Russian Roulette” consists of older and newer works, some of which have never been shown in Tallinn, some of which were also recently exhibited at a personal exhibition in Viinistu.
The guest artist of “Russian Roulette” is Swedish Sami artist Britta Marakatt-Labba (1951). The serigraphs based on Britta Marakatt-Labba’s embroidered stories are on display at the Kastellaanimaja exhibition. The serigraphs were purchased from Helle Knudsen’s gallery in Stockholm, and in the case of changing the medium and the associated price reduction of the work, we can speak of the power of consumer society and a friendlier price policy for the buyer. Next to Britta Marakatt-Labba’s seigraphies, Marje Taska’s homage to her colleague and the Sami people, “Sápmi” painted on wood, is on display.
