The exhibition “Prized” focuses on showcasing the three decades of activity of the Estonian Textile Artists’ Association (ETAA). This professional association of textile artists was founded on February 15, 1993, and has actively brought together textile artists from different generations in Estonia. Currently, the Estonian Textile Artists’ Association has 103 members.
The aim of the exhibition is to highlight ETAA’s significance in supporting local textile art. In addition to contextual materials, the exhibition presents the creative work of artists: it features works by nearly thirty artists who have successfully participated in international exhibitions over the years of the association’s activity.
The anniversary exhibition provides an opportunity to introduce the work of ETAA’s board and recognize their (often voluntary) contribution to the development of local textile art. Alongside the founding of the association, the newsletter Koiliblikas and the still-active Lühikese Jala Gallery were also established.
