Phan Nguyen’s exhibition is about the experiences of queer people living in the diaspora. It dives into questions of dual identities, integration, belonging and ethno-cultural roots, with a particular focus on what it is like to experience connection across borders of countries and peoples, and beyond Eurocentric knowledge.
Phan Nguyen is a Vietnamese visual artist with work encompassing photography, filmmaking, sculpture and installation. In their practice, Phan seeks to examine the fluidity of memories, queer identity, ecology and belonging through home-making, all of which are informed by their lived experience far from home.
