The content of the performances is deliberately kept under wraps to leave space for spontaneity and direct experience. The assignment for the course was to create a performance either individually or in a group, without a predefined theme. This freedom of form and content gave the students an opportunity to experiment, combine different ideas, and express themselves without limitations.
The creative process was guided by artist and lecturer Martiini. Throughout the course, students delved into the essence of performance art, studied specialist literature, explored the work of other known artists in the field, and drew inspiration from everyday life. This learning journey emphasized trusting both oneself and the creative process, while encouraging open-mindedness.
“The most important takeaway from this experience is inspiration — to stay open to everything, everywhere, at all times,” says Katariina Torm, a photography student participating in the course.
On April 11 Aita Ambos, Veronika Baškirjova, Kadri Eliise Eensaar, Lovisa Hiiop, Rasmus Hirv, Tiia Silm, Nele Luik, Heli Saar, Anita Sokolova, Katariina Torm and Katriin Rätsepp will be making performances at gallery Pallas.
