I was born in 1961 in Viljandi County, but I moved to Elva in the 1980s to live and work. I started painting in the early 1990s. I painted for a couple of years, but then there was a pause because I didn’t have enough time or space due to work. Now, for the past 10 years, as I have more free time, especially during the winter, I started painting again in my well-equipped studio. I have no formal artistic education; everything I know I’ve learned myself through trial and error while working on my paintings.
This current exhibition is a cross-section of my works from recent years. My main painting theme is nature, as I grew up surrounded by it, and it inspires me the most. While I have experimented with other mediums, I have now stuck solely with oil paints. I have organized exhibitions over the years, and every time, something new is added.
I hope that my paintings bring atmosphere and positive emotions.
