In the Steam House of the Viscosa Culture Factory, light and air, movement and memory converge.
Surrounding Hiiumaa is a sky that seems at times distant, at others within arm’s reach. Much like memory.
A reflection is not merely an image. It creates the sense that space continues, repeats, or opens into a realm physically inaccessible; it dissolves the clear boundaries between up and down, here and there, now and then, and turns the viewer into part of the image.
It is a shift—a subtle deviation where “up” might become “down” and distance draws near.
Light repeats, disperses, and returns.
A person creates space, appears within it, and vanishes into it once more.
A moment stretches longer than time itself.
The movement of air binds light and fabric—the visible emerges from motion.
What if the sky begins at the ground?
What if what we perceive as infinite is born within touching distance?
Reflections reveal more than just space.
They unveil a state of being we already inhabit.
