Drawing elements from both the past and the present allow speculation about the future trajectory of society. “Art has always been a key tool in writing history. There is a vibration and anxiety in the air; changes are happening, and with this exhibition, we wish to capture this sensation – something big is coming,” discuss the exhibition organizers Liina Kinks and Viktor Kiss.
The exhibition title “Aju, kaasa / Brain, to-go” is inspired by the rapid movement of society and the pace of life, where there often isn’t time for a pause and depth. Stopping, looking, and thinking are important activities to distinguish between reality and the mind’s pranks.
Participating students and alumni in the exhibition are Rain Avarmaa (photography), Mari Frühling (painting and restoration), Dmitry Gorbushin (sculpture 2018), Viktor Kiss (sculpture), Anni Mets (painting and restoration 2022) Sofia Lanman (textile), Jelizaveta Pratkunas (sculpture 2018), Kerttu Rebane (leather design and restoration 2023), Helen Strom (leather design and restoration 2023).
The exhibition concludes with a musical evening on October 21st at 16:00.
The exhibition is supported by the Estonian Cultural Endowment.
