The exhibition is produced by Linnéa Jägrud, professional biologist and author, in collaboration with the award-winning photographer Tore Hagman. The idea behind the exhibition is to show the change in our landscapes in a different way. Many of our species such as mosses, lichens, birds, mushrooms and everything else connected to the landscape. But the landscape has changed – and the species are being red-listed.
It is about excavated wetlands, cut down forests and dammed rapids. In nature, we also have a number of Nordic beings; the neck, the forest plot, the farm plot to name a few. Why are they so rarely seen? When were they last seen? They are strongly linked to our landscape, which we have changed so much. Where will the woodchuck hide when all the forest is cut down? Where will the necks play in elaborate rivers and how will the farm elf find a barn to be in when everything is in full swing these days? When the wetlands are dug out, the fairies have nowhere to dance and the mermaid dies when she gets caught in the bottom trawl.
