The exhibition Money On The Wall opens shines a light on a concept that Andy Warhol himself coined: Business Art, "the step that comes after Art". The exhibition explores Warhol's most commercial – but also most groundbreaking – side. Few artists have grappled as consistently and forcefully as Warhol with the basic fact that modern life in the West is built around consumption and money.

The dollar bill early became one of his favorite motifs. Later, in the 70s and 80s, he risked infamy in the art world by embarking on all sorts of projects that on the surface seemed entirely profit-driven. Some worked and brought him revenue, while others were too subversive and therefore doomed to failure. In fact, they were all part of a groundbreaking artistic idea. Money On The Wall places Warhol in a context with artists working on similar themes – from Warhol’s time to today.
Absolut Warhol (the blue edition) is also shown for the first time ever in the autumn exhibition. The work, which was commissioned by Absolut Vodka, was created in 1985. After disappearing for over 30 years, it was rediscovered in 2019 – only to find its way into the Absolut Art Collection. Now it appears for the first time in Money On The Wall. Money On The Wall also includes international artists such as Lee Lozano, Chris Burden, Robert Morris, Takashi Murakami, Andrea Fraser, Carey Young, Daren Bader and the American artist collective MSCHF.
