The exhibition features works by Claude Monet and 14 other major impressionists from the mid-1800s to the early 1900s, including Camille Pissarro, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Paul Cézanne and Edgar Degas. Alongside their works, photographs and films are also presented that tell about their sources of inspiration. The art of the Impressionists is appreciated by many and is easy to absorb. In the exhibition, it is also presented in an innovative and very vivid way, which will open up the wonderful world of art to a new audience.
When you step into the Burned Hall, you find yourself in the middle of the exhibition.
You are surrounded by the fantastic paintings of the Impressionists, which are projected on giant screens. Classical music is played and an aromatic scent enhances the experience even more.
Monet & Friends Alive is aimed at the whole family and children’s activities will be organized in connection with the exhibition. The exhibition also includes a bridge, where visitors can take pictures and become a part of Monet’s work Bridge over water lily pond. The exhibition is created by Grande Experiences, who have tailored the installation to fit Kalmar Castle’s historical environment. It has previously been shown in several locations around the world, including Mexico City, Beijing, Moscow, Rome and Sydney.
