The tension between the very simple and the endlessly layered, or the personal and the multifaceted, fascinates me. Their simultaneous existence seems crucially important. As such, the line can have endless different characters or relationships to the paper.
A pencil can be a cheap pen found in every office and school just as well as a handmade tool for an artist. A line cannot be separated from its creator: from his movement, the weight he uses against the surface, his breathing.
In the works of the exhibition, I have defined certain rules, the first of which is the quality and format of the paper. The only subject is an abstract task, on the basis of which I have started each drawing. I chose ink, markers, wood colors and soft pastels as materials. The colors came along through the joy they gave. I have painted some of the works with watercolors. Among other things, it reminds us that drawing is not the only way to create lines.
