MIKAEL SOLEBRIS - AS IN HEAVEN, SO ALSO ON THE STOVE
"What I have devoted myself to is basically quite simple, as long as you crack the creative and aesthetic code together with a good portion of imagination. It is about abstract and high-contrast motifs, which in a black and white design look like graphics. These are motifs that are highlighted best in that beautiful weather-relationship that often prevails during spring and summer, but which are nevertheless deliberately executed with a diffuse painting so as not to "reveal" the motifs' actual origin at first glance. And they are found where I love to stay and find peace – in the archipelago, by lakes, rivers and ponds.

It all started in May 2021 on a rock outcrop in the northern part of Lake Vänern, at Edsviken in southwestern Hammarö, right next to a small sker which is the nesting place for lots of seagulls and terns, and what they leave behind – namely, it is from bird droppings that I downloaded all these motifs. Seagulls, cormorants, ospreys and not least sea eagles became my best companions during this abstract, relaxing and highly entertaining photographic journey. The main purpose of this photo project has been to show which incredibly beautiful, and also many times strange, things that nature chooses to make visible to us”.
