The German-born Lebanese-Norwegian artist Coline Cherry´s production is versatile, and her digital work centers around the intersection of fashion design and digital 3D art and animation. With creative roots going deep into the history of fashion with an eye to the future and its emerging technologies – such as AR and VR, Coline organically bridges past and future to create pieces that vividly represents the present. She seeks to understand the human condition by looking at it through various lenses. With particular interest in how human creation comes to reshape humans themselves.
Coline Cherry started assisting Norwegian fashion designers from when she was 16. In 2015 she started her bachelor’s in art & fashion at the Norwegian National Academy of the Arts – where she later functioned as atelier manager – before working alongside Michael Olestad and Eva Emanuelsen. Coline’s career in fashion has, so far, seen her work as a designer, production manager, educator at SoFi Oslo and stylist. During Covid Coline’s career-focus pivoted, as well as crafting costumes for Folketeateret and the TV-series “Vikingarna” she revisited her earlier experimentation in 3D fashion design, a medium in which she swiftly found an additional channel for her blooming creativity.
