A city comes to life through the people who live in it. At the same time, the residents are in turn shaped by the city's identity. In the exhibition "Boråsare", photographer Mats Alfredsson captures the stories that are not always visible. The ones who are there under the surface, sincere and everyday, and who are just waiting to emerge. The images are complemented by people's thoughts about life. Short excerpts that add another dimension to the story, in texts created by the writer Malin Hellstrand.
The viewer is invited to reflect on what it means to be part of Borås. What common values and dreams unite us? What impact does the city and its inhabitants have on each other? By exploring these questions, the basis for a dialogue and sense of belonging can be created. Each portrait contains a story, a part of Borås, which shaped the person and made them what they are today. By experiencing expressions, moments and personality, the viewer can explore the unique nuances and depth of the individual. The exhibition wants to inspire you to look beyond the obvious and discover the beauty and complexity of every human life.
“Boråsare” is a tribute to the people of Borås – both those who were born here and grew up in the city, and those who later chose to call it their home. A variety of portraits are presented here that reflect the cultural breadth of the city, from artists and entrepreneurs to workers and students. The exhibition tells about the people who make this city so alive and unique. Explore, reflect and appreciate the various personal portraits that reflect Borås – we are all part of the community.
