What do a seashell, a green flash, and a glass of water have in common?
Photo from Kunsthalle Helsinki
In his exhibition, Marko Vuokola addresses natural phenomena and perception, and how images are structured. The methods used for making the works range from photography to moving image, from objects to drawings, sound and installations.
Marko Vuokola’s works are typically extremely condensed and minimal. However, the conceptual artworks do not exclude individual experience or emotions; Vuokola is a curious thinker who tries to share something about his experiences and thoughts through images.
The Ocean of Love exhibition focuses on new works presented for the first time. The works resonate with one another, reaching surprising nuances and contents. Vuokola has said that individual works are like letters or words that together form sentences and stories.
