“Carne viva” (in English: living flesh) is an intense and dramatic phrase that acknowledges the limitations of physical existence. The lack of control over the fate of one’s own body can be frightening.
“‘Carne viva’ is an exhibition where I invite the viewer to pause for a moment and acknowledge the organic cyclical nature of life: birth, passion, decay and rebirth. It is my exploration of the inevitability of physicality and the spirit’s quest to give love a form that transcends the boundaries of the body,” the artist explains.
