While tackling these subjects, the artist has chosen peat as her material and sphere as her form. Material has been stripped of its usual state and replaced with the unusual.
Though unexpected use of material, form and function become playful and enjoyable that enambles to arise experimental sensations.
Liina Tepand (b.1972, Laagri) is a scenographer, member of the Estonian Theatre Union and Association of Estonian Scenographers (2006). She has graduated from Tallinn Secondary School No. 61 (1991), studied gardening in Tallinn Polytechnic School (graduated in 1992) and graduated from the department of scenography at the Estonian Academy of Arts (2000, supervisors Aime Unt and Lilja Blumenfeld). She worked as a prop designer at Drama Theatre (1994–1996), head artist at Tartu Theatre Lab (2000-2002) and later as a freelance artist. She has also taught stage design at the Viljandi Culture Academy at the University of Tartu (2014–2015). Tepand has designed the national song and dance celebrations (2007, 2009, 2011). She has received the Special Award of Spoken
Word Theatre (2005, with Anne Türnpu and the theatre troupe).
