Modernism is a style of architecture, an art movement, music and a lot of other things. But is it possible to turn modernism into the way of life and an aspiration for existence? If modernism is a style, it means that a modernist is a person who professes and subscribes to the ideals of the 20th century. How to confess and nurture that modernism, what would be the manifestations of love?
You will learn about it and more in Rokas Mikšiūnas’ exhibition “LEGO Modernism: from a block to a building”. The exhibition will take you on a chronological journey of the young artist from his first acquaintance with Kaunas modernist architecture to the latest pearls of his work. You will see the following real LEGO models in the exhibition: the modernist buildings of Vilnius, a fragment of a variegated LEGO curtain, interpretations of Kaunas modernism and the Kaunas Central Post Office. The exhibition will also offer visualisations of LEGO models that have not yet been constructed or could not be brought to the exhibition.
