ELIISA ISONIEMI’S “Karjan evakkomatka” (“Cattle Evacuation Journey”) depicts a wartime landscape where women walked hundreds of kilometres with their cattle to evacuate Karelia during World War II. In the works ”Kasvoilla” (“On faces”), the landscape is placed on the face with colours and glazes. The sculptures depict the experience of the weather through different senses: the flicker of the sun and the wind on the skin, the smell of spring on the breath, the sting of wolverine on the cheeks. www.eliisaisoniemi.com
