My paintings are like post-it’s on the wall, which remind us that in life you have to go with the flow, trust and be free. For me, good creation represents freedom. Today’s world is hugely planned and structured. My paintings are not – neither critical nor political. The works are created with self-indulgent passion, and I wish to share the feelings I felt while painting with the viewers through my creations,” the author describes her recent painting process.
Kaidi Kaasik is a graphic designer by profession. Kaidi has studied graphics at the Estonian Academy of Arts, documentary film at BFM and action art at Academia Non Grata. Today, the author is also engaged in painting, her calligraphic abstract mixed media paintings are colorful and contrasting. According to the author, free and expressive painting helps balance the designer’s work, which requires precision and dedication.
