Jakobi Gallery 30

Jakobi Gallery has been operating at the Children’s Art School since November 1995, or for 30 years. As such, it is the oldest continuously operating gallery in Tartu, next to the Tartu Art Museum and the Tartu Art House. Throughout its history, the gallery has hosted outstanding and significant exhibitions, legendary Action Art Nights and performances. The gallery works in symbiosis with the Tartu Children’s Art School, and in various exhibitions, both young emerging artists from Estonia and the world, as well as already recognized and experienced authors, have the opportunity to present their works.

On the occasion of the anniversary, the exhibition curator and one of the gallery founders, Enn Tegova, will take a look back over the years. He has invited a representative selection of authors from former exhibitions, all of whom have exhibited their works at the Jakobi Gallery once or more in the past. The exhibition will feature the following artists: Peeter Allik, Vano Allsalu, Jaanus Eensalu, Albert Gulk, Rene Kari, Andrus Kasemaa, Raivo Kelomees, Peeter Krosmann, Ilmar Kruusamäe, Malle Leis, Lembit Lepp, Eve Luik, Kertu Lätt, Kaljo Põllu, Paul Saar, Ahti Seppet, Liina Siib, Aleksander Suumann, Imat Suumann, Hando Tamm, Rein Tammik, Enn Tegova and Danel Ülper. The exhibition is based on the collections of Margus Punab, Krista Piirimäe, Oliver Helm, Tartu Children’s Art School and the authors.
