The graduation projects from the Põlva Art School in recent years are not just art – they are honest attempts by young people to understand the world, themselves and everything that happens between them and how to survive in the outskirts. These works were born in difficult times: pandemic, war, digital noise. But it is precisely in these circumstances that young people have found the courage to create, ask and speak.
The exhibition will feature paintings, installations, graphics and mixed media that reflect the world and mindset of young people, identity, physicality, the relationship between nature and man, as well as silence, belonging and spiritual vulnerability. Many works are born out of deep empathy – they are like visual prayers that do not seek answers, but consolation.
These young artists do not try to be perfect. They try to be truly present. And this honesty is touching.
Youth art may not fix the world, but it can show the world’s mercy and ruthlessness.
Come take a look and experience. This is news that comes from above – but it speaks to all of us down here.
