Ester Must directs attention to the perception of body and being, love toward oneself and others, sexuality, as well as the injustices and psychological traumas connected to these topics. “Every contact and encounter leaves invisible marks on the body and reminds us of itself from time to time. Even comments and compliments can be kinds of touches that have a lasting effect on the body,” the artist explains. She adds that physical touch can be both healing and harmful, lingering even after fingers have lifted from the skin.
Ester Must (1997) graduated in textile from Pallas University of Applied Sciences in 2021 and completed her MA studies in Teacher of Arts and Technology at the University of Tartu Viljandi Culture Academy in 2023. “Hands off, Touch on” is her first solo exhibition.
