The exhibition Home, Sea, Hope – A reflection on flight revolves around how climate change, political conflicts and economic inequalities affect people’s lives and drive them to flee, and about how human rights can be seriously respected and protected. The canvas can here become a symbol of peace, a wing that shortens the distance between places and people. It can also be a metaphor for dialogue and communication.
Haky Jasim was born in Baghdad and studied liberal arts and graphics in Belgrade between 1982-1990. He has been working as an artist and art teacher in Gothenburg since 1992.
The exhibition is made in collaboration with Anna Ehrlemark and Mileta Mijatovic from the graphics workshop Longest Night.
