World traveller, surfer and photographer Gert Kelu surf-themed personal exhibition "IN THE WATER" in the Valge Kuup pop-up gallery of Põhjala Factory Studio House in Tallinn. About ten years ago, Gert migrated from Estonia to the Bahamas, cleared a small patch of land out of the mangrove jungle, built a wooden cabin - and stayed there. This made it possible to be in a world of your own, where food came mainly from the sea and days were spent on the waves with a surfboard and a camera. And so 365 days a year - this being is captured in the author's work.

In addition to his love for travel, being in the water and photography, Gert is also a wonderful cook and a carpenter with golden hands, in whose hands every piece of wood begins to take shape until it finds its right shape. At the centre of the photo exhibition is a surfboard made by the author, created from driftwood found while surfing and walking on the beach in the Bahamas. The author has also finished the wooden frames of the exhibition works.
The exhibition will remain open at the Põhjala factory until mid-August.
Gert talks about his life in the Bahamas and travels with Ivo Tšetõrkin in the Reispass series. The series is brought to you via Radio 2 and can be listened to via the link – https://r2.err.ee/1609356271/reispass
