Heidi Solo, one of the curators of the exhibition: “Together with Epp Klimenko, we found a cheerful group in a fairly short period of time who wanted to show their woodworking skills. At the same time, we thought about what objects they could be, so that the exhibition would be compact and with a specific message. Swings and chandeliers had previously caught the eye as interesting objects that could be made. Co-curator Epp firmly decided – let’s do both!”
This is the case in the hall of the participation exhibition with both machine-made and hand-made objects, created from sticks, natural forms, design, reuse, historical spirit and modern solutions. Many things didn’t come to fruition due to life’s twists and turns, but there are more than 13 different swings and candlesticks. One of the most outstanding works is a candlestick made of wooden spoons, which could be set above the dining table, take an aid from the chandelier to eat soup, and then put it back in the chandelier.
All authors participating in the exhibition, including entrepreneurs, accountants, gymnastics coaches, teachers, directors, housewives, musicians, were put together in a film specially created by Elo Selirand for the purpose of the exhibition. You can watch the film only by visiting the exhibition.
