In the middle of April, new brightly colored pictures appear in the parish. They are painted by Anne Vejen Hindkjær and there is a vernissage on Sunday 23 April at approx. 11.30 the art committee invites you to a small reception/fernisation in Sognegården.
Anne writes about herself:
I was born in Aalborg and probably North Jutland with a capital N. I feel closely connected to the nature of North Jutland, with the West Sea and Limfjord, the harsh nature, the wind and not least the light, which can only be experienced in North Jutland.”
Literature and sports have been my main interests throughout my life, both in my working life as a teacher at a high school and in my private life. Only in recent years has painting entered my life, where I experience some of the same things as in my work with literature and the practice of sports: being in the present, being engaged in a playful lightness and self-forgetfulness.
My paintings come by themselves, without prior censorship and planning. The effortless and natural, the colorful and the expressively powerful, is what I look for in my pictures. The women, the children, the men, the cats and nature are the immediate motifs that follow, close-up images of life.
