According to American Indians, the world of things only exists in people's consciousness. The universe is actually full of energy radiation and various energy clouds. They call the different frequencies of energy emanations of the Eagle. The world of things is therefore illusory, created so that incarnated souls would find it easier to navigate on Earth.
Be that as it may, but one day I began to see those energy clouds as well. A church tower, a pretty face or a piece of music evoked a sense of special activity, which filled me with enormous inner satisfaction – these were my first encounters with the Power. As a painter, I feel like a hunter who hunts Power. When I see a motif, an image or a situation that contains a sense of a higher power, I quickly sketch this sense in my writing pad, and later in the studio I make it into a painting. The power often gets recorded in the picture and never leaves. As someone fascinated by art I seek power and energy in pictures at exhibitions. I call the picture's vibration an energy fact – it is objective and defines the picture's worth.

I decided to call my exhibition at Kadrioru Galerii „Encounters with Power“. Various earlier paintings are displayed on four floors, and also newer and most recent ones. The topic is mostly architecture (Santorini, Tallinn, Viljandi and New York), but also nature, human figures and portrait. The most recent pictorial series contains interpretations of Renaissance masters’ works. I am interested in what Giotto, Fra Angelico and others think of the essence of painting. I am also captivated by the power in the paintings of old masters. I have made those historical paintings „my own“ through my colours and style. It is amazing to observe how old motifs spring to life in new interpretation. One painting derives from a small pocket icon that has travelled around with me for 30 years. This painting is called „Jesus“.
