The exhibition asks what a queer life is like. In this context, the term queer means a way of being or doing things, which includes breaking free from the usual. The works in the exhibition are like codes that can be decoded and thus find new connections between yourself and the world. The word dreamy, on the other hand, refers to, for example, dreaming and fantasy.
“In the works, you can see the undercurrent of the search for desire and connection. I believe that the exhibition offers visitors points of identification in the areas of sexuality, gender, desire, intimacy and togetherness.”
– Exhibition curator and author Max Hannus
The themes of the exhibition include searching for connection, finding home and looking for love. The themes are further deepened by the Kiasma theater’s program, where you can see performances by up-and-coming artists.
