The photographer and artist Dan Isaac Wallin is a phenomenon in contemporary Swedish visual art. An innovator of the analog craft in a digital age. His unique and dreamy picture world is exhibited in galleries in Sweden and abroad, but above all it can be seen on the walls of people’s homes from the Nordic countries to Australia. In one way or another, every subject that Dan captures is a part of his life. From the reflections of his childhood Bohuslän to portraits of rock stars, adventurers and ordinary people.
It’s about traction and time. Always the time. The time a picture can take. To take shape. In the lens. On the paper. In the eye of the beholder.
Nature is a recurring theme in Dan’s visual art. It can be salty seas and hard granite, dry desert or snow-covered mountain peaks. The solitary unites. The motifs emerge during his travels. First he discovers a place – like Lofoten, Iceland or Israel. Then he returns. Spending time. Forming motifs. Excerpt from his own experiences: “It’s places of memory that are close to my heart.”Dan Isaac Wallin – Silence Speaks. Kungsbacka Art Gallery
