CONSERVATIVE EVOLUTION
January 20, 2025 – February 28, 2025
Gallery Metropol 6 m2, Metropol Staircase and Metropol Cabinet
(Vana-Kalmaja 46, Tallinn)
Open by appointment
Themes of the new exhibition in Metropol revolve around the destruction and salvation of man, the environment and life, and luckily some possible solutions are glowing in the darkness.
The present level of consumption and economic growth cries out for a change. Instead, a new (or old?) paradigm should be found, which recognizes the impact of environmental health, and evolutionary trends to sustain the complexity of life as we know it.
At the same time, the current rapid cultural processes give us an opportunity for a seed exchange in Metropol Kapp during the exhibition, where everybody is welcome to take and bring some seeds for future conservation.
Artist explains:
„I find highlighting past knowledge and different cultural conceptions based on understanding and living in balance with nature a necessity. The challenge is to find a way to communicate about these in comparison with our current lifestyles to accelerate change towards resilience and the health of our environments including ourselves.”
