The invited participants — selected from the over 230 submissions made to our open call — were selected by a jury comprising artist and writer John Gayer, artist, publisher, editor, and curator Tommi Musturi, and curator, writer, and gallerist Hannele Nyman (Galleria Duetto).
From its launch in 2021, BOOKED has focused on presenting innovative, new or rarely seen artists’ books and presented them alongside with a wide array of print media affiliated artworks. In addition to unique book works, small press editions, periodicals, comics, postcards, posters, this spectrum has encompassed drawings and paintings, objects, word art, audio-visual compositions, web-based projects, installations and performance art. Moreover, each edition of BOOKED is complemented by a program that may include talks, workshops and screenings.
