Peeter Mudist is one of the biggest legends of Estonian art, whose work has always been admired by art lovers. He developed his special style of painting in the early 1970s, just a few years after graduating from the Estonian Art Institute (now the Estonian Academy of Arts). This style was noticeably different from everything that was done in painting at that time. Mudist had the strength to be different, and this strength also gave him a rare inner freedom. It is possible that it was also affected by Parkinson’s disease, which he suffered from for half his life, which is why he had time to focus only on the most important things. That is why the title of our exhibition is “Burning Man”.
The curator is Reet Mark and the exhibition was designed by Emma Eensalu.
Estonian National Museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm.
